Whisky expert Dominic Roskrow is launching a six part of beginner's course to teach thefundamentals of whisky from around the world in a fun and informal way. Each evening will include five whiskies and a two hour talk. The cost for the course is £85 payable in two halves, or £70 if paid in advance (£10 per session). The cost covers everything including the whisky. The course will cover: Session 1: An introduction to whisky What is whisky? Whisky history: styles of whisky: whiskies of the world and how they differ: making sense of the whisky label Session 2: Scottish single malt whisky An in depth look at how whisky is made: milling, mashing, fermenting and distilling: maturation and the importance of wood: Session 3 The whisky regions of Scotland Lowlands: Highlands: Campbletown: islands: Islay Session 4: The whiskies of Scotland Scotland's malt distilleries: blended malt whisky: grain whisky: blended whisky Session 5: The world's biggest whisky regions Scotland: Ireland: Amerca: Canada: Japan Session 6: Whiskies of the world The rest of the world: the future for whisky: Session 7: Test.
