Just to say how impressed we were with the food Sunday lunch time - absolutely delicious, well presented and plenty of it.
It was great to have mulled wine on such a cold day too. We will definitely be coming back for more!

After a day out on the Mid Norfolk Railway, we stayed in Wymondham and came across the Green Dragon. The staff were extremely friendly and made us feel at home. Good ale was available and food excellent. The garden was relaxing to sit in with observation of nature if you look closely! Very enjoyable afternoon.

Memories of my reminiscent visit to Wymondham will linger for a very long time.
My two night stay was enhanced by my choosing to have my evening meals at the Green Dragon Inn. They were of ample proportion, thoroughly enjoyed, whilst I treated the accompanying half pints of bitter as though they were vintage wine.
The ambience of the inn with its historical association will draw me back to enjoy the attractive menu, and I hope to return to Wymondham later this year.

We have just had our second stay at The Green Dragon and hopefully there will be many more. The accomodation is basic but very clean and and the beds are oh so comfortable. The food is great with a good veggie selection and Justin and David, the owners could not be more obliging. The rest of the staff and even the regulars are a very friendly bunch and the area is well worth a visit. Highly recommended!

Hi I would just like to say what a warm and wonderful reception I received when I visited The Green Dragon. Staff were all friendly and helpful and were happy to accomodate my two young children. The food was delicious and there was a wide selection to choose from. I would highly recommend the Lasagne and Garlic Bread!!! I will definitely be returning :)

Thank you so much for the great food and surroundings for our Dad's 70th birthday lunch earlier today.  Everyone really enjoyed the meals and we will all be returning and recommending you. The whole thing really made our Dad's day.  Thank you all so much again.

I only went in for a coffee but with a warm welcome, blazing fire and watching meals arrive I decided to go back for my birthday. The food is amazing and in generous portions. Not very often publicans recognize you from a fleeting previous visit - it is a lovely place to be. I'll be back..

Visited in mid-December 2009. Beautiful, historic building (built in 1473). Lovely, gracious hosts, who recently took over running the pub. Real ales on tap. Food was delicious (with generous portions). On our first visit, we learned that they had 3 rooms for rent, so we checked out of the place we were staying in (in another town), and checked in at the Green Dragon. The rooms are in the newer part. We stayed in the room with the horsehair bed (very comfortable). While the rooms are not as unique as the main part of the pub itself, what a treat to just walk upstairs at the end of the day, after enjoying the fire and your favorite beverage. And, then waking up in the morning and walking downstairs into a historic pub. Hope that wasn't our only visit!

Have just returned from a short break near Wymondham and what a joy to discover this place! Four well kept real ales on pump (I put a dent in a keg of Green Jack's Trawlerboys on my visits) as well as a keg mild. They also stock over 25 single malt whiskies. We had dinner one evening and as mentioned in another review the portions were generous and the food outstanding. The new owners, Justin and David, as well as barman Finny, were very gracious and welcoming. I can't say enough about this place so if you are ever in the neighbourhood you should definitely make it a point to visit. I'll be back!

"The Green Dragon in Wymondham is a cut-above. It is a Grade II* 13th century inn, very limited in size, but what the new owners (since Nov 2009) have done in such a short time have transformed it from somewhere no-one ever went to a bustling characterful community pub that people rave about.

They have the finest local real ale on tap, continually changing them round to provide variety. They have opened up their most wonderful beer garden, which they have beer festivals and exquisite live music in. But what has really transformed the pub is the introduction of a fantastic, wholesome menu and their food is truly fantastic - And I eat at a lot of restaurants, from local fayre to The Ivy.

They do not have a myriad of dishes, but concentrate on exquisite, hearty, traditional English cuisine with intricate textures and combinations. Their portions are incredible considering that most main meals are under £10 and yet their quality is comparable to the finest restaurants and the flavours are simply out of this world.

There is no stand-alone dish, I together with many, many others who have discovered the Green Dragon this year have raved about the menu and I encourage all to visit. From the cheese & cauliflower soup to the wild boar pate to the sirloin steak to the Eaton mess, every dish delights, fulfills and leaves you wondering how they make it and how they do it at the price.

Truly wonderful, by far the best pub in Norfolk, please consider paying them a visit"
